ABOUT THE DROOGS
Biography
“Grains Of Misery” – the Swiss punkrock trio The Droogs takes another big step forward with their latest album. Chris Erny (Vocals, Guitars), Dan Zolar (Bass) and Dave Gurtner (Drums, Vocals) present a record that blasts the listener with loud, fast and driving punkrock tunes that reveal the bands’ fine songwriting and playing qualities. They take their classic in-your-face streetpunk sound known from their first album “An Endless Clockwork” to a whole new level by adding influences beyond just punkrock without giving up their roots. The Droogs’ music is an irresistible mixture of powerful, true punkrock combined with catchy choruses and that certain punch that makes the bands’ shows so special.
Founded in February 2006 The Droogs have played shows in Switzerland on a regular basis ever since – they also shared the stage with legendary bands like Bad Religion, UK Subs, The Vibrators, The Casualties, Krum Bums, Cockney Rejects, Perkele and others. They released their first album “An Endless Clockwork” on their own label Scream Out Records in June 2008. In Summer 2009 they teamed up with Block Action Music from Nurnberg and started recording songs for the new album “Grains Of Misery" which was released in December the same year. In 2010 The Droogs were taken into the artist roster of the Swiss label taktart.ch.
Nothing comes for free in life – The Droogs know what it takes and are still not tired, despite constantly being on the brink of ruin and despite far too much alcohol and cicarettes. They do whatever they want to, and they love what they do.
